This is your chance to comment on the topic of the 60s and the culture war that's been ongoing since then.
Questions you might address include --
- Have you noticed or had personal experience with a discrepancy between what happened at a news event and what was reported in the Mass Media?
- If you did, where you able to discern if some group or interest might have been helped or not harmed by the Media's slanting, changing, or lying about the actual happenings of the event?
- If you were in college during the early 70s, as I was, did you notice massive changes at your college or university -- teachers fired; departments downgraded or cut back (which were liberal); departments upgraded or added that would lean toward a more conservative, pro-corporation, pro-elite wealthy class -- as I did?
- Do you believe that the Mass Media -- particularly the news coverage, as on major network TV -- is reporting accurately?
- Do you believe that the fact that these Media are all owned by elite wealthy individuals or groups and that their advertising money comes primarily from huge corporations -- oil, pharmaceuticals, energy, and so on -- whose agenda of profit-making is de facto at odds with the welfare, interests, and betterment of society as a whole, alters or shapes the news you hear and if so how and to what degree?
- If you lived through the beginnings of the Culture War, did you notice or have personal experience with changes in any of the other institutions, besides education, in America, such as publishing, health, technology, or some other?
